NAME

htpdate - HTTP Time Protocol client

 

SYNOPSIS

htpdate [ -h ] [ -a ] host [host] [...]

 

DESCRIPTION

htpdate sets the system clock using the using "HTP" (the HTTP Time Protocol) from remote web servers.

 

OPTIONS

-h
Print out help information.

-a

The -a option tells htpdate to attempt to slew the time to the correct value rather than setting it. The default is to set it.

host

Query the webserver specified by host to update the time. Many hosts may be specified, but atleast one is required. The host parameter can be in the format of hostname:port.
